Frequently asked questions
How much does small business website design cost in Canada with bauwau?
Packages start at $1,590 for a professional one-page site. Most local businesses choose the Standard package at $2,290. You pay one fixed price in Canadian dollars, with no monthly subscription.
How long until my website is live?
Between 2 and 6 weeks, depending on the package. It mostly depends on how quickly your content and photos are ready. You send bullet points or existing text, we polish it into clear, search-friendly copy, and you approve it.
What ongoing costs are there, and who owns the domain?
We set up hosting for free. You only pay for your domain (about $20–30 a year for a .ca), registered in your name, so it belongs to you. A monthly care plan is optional.
Do you offer website care after launch?
Yes, it's optional and month-to-month (cancel with 4 weeks' notice before month-end). Care Basic at $49 a month: uptime monitoring, regular backups, security and update checks, email support. Care Active at $99: plus up to 1 hour of changes per month and replies within 24 hours. Care Plus at $179: up to 2 hours of changes, a monthly SEO and performance check and Google Business Profile upkeep. Without a plan, your site runs just the same; changes are billed by effort ($149 per hour).
Can I have my website updated later?
Yes, any time. Send us changes by email or WhatsApp, such as new prices, photos, hours or news, and we update them quickly. Changes are included in care plans from $99 a month, otherwise billed by the hour ($149 per hour).
Will people find me on Google?
Every site is built to be technically clean for search engines. From the Standard package, we also do local SEO for your city and neighbourhood. Setting up your Google Business Profile, the biggest lever for “near me” searches, is available as an add-on.
Your studio is in Germany. How does that work for a Canadian business?
We work 100% remotely: video call, email and WhatsApp. Calls are in English and take place in your morning Eastern Time (Frankfurt is 6 hours ahead of ET, 9 hours ahead of Pacific). We don't have an office in Canada, and we don't need one to build your website.
Can my website be in English and French?
Yes. A French version is available as an add-on, with its own clean URLs so both languages rank on Google. If you serve customers in Quebec, keep in mind that Quebec has French-language rules for businesses; we're happy to build your site bilingual, but please check the legal details with an advisor.
